Curved Mosaic Steam Room, London

A vaulted ceiling and a cylindrical basin, both in mosaic.
A private steam room built on wedi Vapor board — the vapour-barrier version, because a steam room needs the barrier laminated to the face, not waterproofing alone. Fine olive glass mosaic runs across the curved vaulted ceiling and wraps a cylindrical hand-made basin, with 600 × 1200 mm travertine-effect porcelain underfoot. Epoxy grout throughout: in a room under constant vapour and daily condensation, a cementitious grout is not a durable option. Ready-to-tile lounger and bench elements were clad continuously with LED strips concealed beneath the seating, concealed matt black brassware, and mitred cuts at every external edge.
